Saturday,15 May, marked a significant day for Ivorian Women’s Rugby, as Rugby Africa Unstoppable Paule Ella Guei and the players made their presence felt at one of the country’s biggest sporting events, the Côte D’Ivoire Women’s Marathon.

The group of women, led by Ella Guei – who is also a member of the Rugby Africa sub-committee for Communication, Public Relations and Marketing – served at the heart of the event’s organizing committee, and made the most of the opportunity to promote women’s rugby.

The women took time out to explain the importance of participating in the game and sharing the benefits that the game of rugby offers women and girls.

It was a memorable day, enjoyed by all involved, and a significant day for women’s rugby in the country as the union strives to grow the game in line with Rugby Africa’s Strategic Development Plan for Women’s rugby.
