ACCRA, Ghana– A tantalising CUP Semi-Final pairing has been set at the Rugby Africa Women’s Sevens after Uganda, Kenya, South Africa and Madagascar all progressed here in Accra, Ghana.

In what is sure to be a titanic battle against their neighbors, Uganda will face Kenya after the two old rivals overcame Tunisia and Ghana in the CUP quarter-finals respectively on day two.

Kenya were the first to reach the CUP Semis, courtesy of a routine 48-0 win over hosts Ghana. Christabel Lindo scored a hat-trick, Sharon Auma crossed over twice while Grace Okulu and Freshia Odour also went over.

Uganda were 17-10 victors over Tunisia with tries from Lydia Namabiro, Grace Auma and Unity Namulala. Zahra Haddaji and Rosla Ati replied for Tunisia.

The third quarter-final between winner Madagascar and Zambia was the closest fought of the four, but the islanders stamped their authority in the end to win 17-10 and book a date with the tournament’s hottest team, South Africa.

South Africa then hammered Senegal 50-0, again, not breaking a sweat. Ayanda Malinga and Kemisetso Baloyi scored twice while Nadine Roos, Leigh Fortuin and Liske Lategan also went for the five-pointer.
