Senegal, Zambia declare their squads ahead of crunch Nairobi clash

Senegal and Zambia have named their match day squads for Wednesday’s Rugby Africa Cup Pool B clash at the Nyayo National Stadium in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi. This match takes place at 3.00pm EAT ( 12.00pm GMT) and will be televised live on local TV station K24 with a livestream on Rugby Africa’s YouTube and Facebook platforms.

Senegal have made one change to the side that started Saturday’s match, Faye Babacounta replacing Lamile Sila at openside flank.

They began their campaign with a shock last gasp 20-19 win over hosts Kenya on Saturday at the same venue. The result saw the West Africans rise eight places in the global rankings from 54th to 46th.

Senegal will come into this tie looking for a second win which will assure them of top spot in the pool and passage to the 2022 competition which will serve as the final round of qualifying for the Rugby World Cup 2023 slated for France. Two teams will advance from this pool to the next round of qualifying.

Zambia, ranked 66th globally jetted into Nairobi early Monday morning and will be out to complicate matters in this pool by defeating Senegal ahead of the final pool game against Kenya on Sunday 11 July 2021 at Nyayo.
