RUGBY AFRICA CUP 2025
The 2025 Rugby Africa Cup, set to be held in Uganda, serves as a two-year qualification tournament for the 2027 Men’s Rugby World Cup, organized by World Rugby, https://www.world.rugby/?lang=en). Kicking off in July 2024, the tournament features eight of Africa’s top rugby nations. Current Rugby Africa Cup champions, Zimbabwe, secured victory against Algeria in the final match of the 2024 tournament held in July 2024. The 2025 tournament will include participating countries such as Zimbabwe, Algeria, Namibia, Kenya, Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, and the winner of the 2024 Men’s Rugby Africa Cup Repechage, happening later this year in Morocco and Tunisia.
The Rugby Africa Cup is a continental rugby union tournament that brought together the top eight rugby nations in Africa. The 2024 participating nations included Zimbabwe, Algeria, Côte d’Ivoire, Kenya, Namibia, Senegal, Burkina Faso and host nation Uganda. Burkina Faso was relegated after losing the 7th/8th place playoff to Côte d’Ivoire in Kampala, Uganda. All 12 matches were held at the refurbished Mandela National Stadium and WankulukukuStadium in Uganda, from July 20 to July 28, 2024.
