Namibia Union visit – Our Training Manager, Denver Wannies, visited the Namibian Union from 8 May till 12 May.
The purpose was to conduct quality assurance reports on their workforce but also to review their progress against their T&E plans. Denver met with the workforce consisting of coaching, S&C and MO educators and one trainer.
They shared some updates and planned the courses to be ran as well as looking at their future needs.
A level 1 coaching and a level 1 S&C Course and QAed the educators was done for the purpose of relicensing and compliance to World Rugby processes and methods. 9 Participants were there from the academy attending the level 1 course and two educators delivering in Christo Alexander and Patrick Van Wyk.
They were supported by the coach Trainer : Henry Kemp
Denver developed a QA report on Henry and he did two QA’s on Christo and Patrick.
PD Stowman, their newly accredited S&C educator, inducted the Level 1 S& C course and Denver supported and QAed him. 6 participants were present for that course 10 and 11 May.
Jacky Husselman conducted two modules of the level 1 MO course and Denver could also QA him.
They both agreed that they will be conducting an educator course for Get Into Rugby educators and regional development officers in the month of September.
They will also work towards them accessing funding that was held back from the previous year.
They reviewed their current training coursed and resolved that they have performed very well and even exceeded the expectation as per their strategic and operational plans. It is against that performance that Denver actually looked at doing the educator course later in the year given they get the funding.
