Israel Kalumba (Zambia 7s Captain) is leading his charges having amassed a wealth of experience. He has led his Team for close to 10 years with the highlight being the Gold Coast Commonwealth Games a few years back. “Having played against the game’s best Players has been an eye-opening challenge and a memorable experience for me” he said. Israel, who notes the huge burden on his shoulders, was quick to add that the heavier burden lay on their opponent’s shoulders. “The fact that most of our opponents regard us as underdogs is a good thing for us, we shall endeavor to put in our very best in each game” he added.
Back home in Zambia, the mood is very high as the nation awaits kick-off. A great many Rugby enthusiasts will be sitting on the edges of their chairs in anticipation of good results from this outing.
