Denver in Cape Town – Denver Wannies, our Regional Training Manager went to Cape Town, in South Africa for a level 2 Immediate Care In Rugby course.
His role was to manage and facilitate the workshop organised by SARU. He ensured that World Rugby standards were maintained in the delivery of the courses and finally to quality assure the 3 trainers who leaded the two days.
The course went very well and was very well organised.
It was the biggest attendance for a ICIR L2 course to date
The participants were all medical practitioners in the provinces of SARU. It was run over two days in order to cover all the course modules – predominantly indoors. All the work was done in three groups which helped a lot with getting all the practical work done in the time at the disposal.
17 participants attended in total : 9 female and 8 male
Next step ? Monitor these newly certified ICIR practitioners in the application if what they have learned in their provinces. It was very useful to ensure that rugby injuries are treated in a uniform manner.
“The course was entirely funded by SARU, it was a great workshop with amazing intern. I would totally give 9/10 on the quality of the organization !” Denver Wannies
