Blue Whales and Black Pearls were flawless in the first tournament of the Central Region Women’s 10s Rugby championship.
This was during an action-packed day hosted by the Lady Swans at the Entebbe Works Stadium.
Blue Whales went undefeated in all three of their matches against Black Diamonds, Ewes and Lady Swans in the Tier 2 category. Tier 2 is the age-grade competition for U-19 girls and newly-formed teams in the Central Region. Overall, the teams exhibited an incredible understanding of the basic rugby skills and displayed promises of a bright future.

For her brilliant performance in all the games, Blue Whales’ Isabella Ira was named Most Valuable Player in the category. She beat strong competition from Nakato Mary of the Black Diamonds.
In Tier 1, Black Pearls dominated from start to finish with wins against Thunderbirds and Avengers. Tier 1 is the open-age category made up of teams with experience and game time under their belts.

Speedster Emilly Lekuru was named the Most Valuable Player in this category.
The second round of the Central Region 10s championship will be hosted by Black Pearls at Kings Park Stadium on Sunday, April 25.
